Glacier National Park Intimate Wedding

Kristen and Jeremiah contacted me last winter when I was just starting photography asking if I would take their engagement and wedding photos a little less than a year later. Kristen and Jeremiah have been together for ten years, they have three beautiful children, and they are the most down to earth people I have ever met.

October 6th, 2018 was the most beautiful day in Glacier National Park. They had their first look at Lake McDonald Lodge, thankfully the water was down quite a bit so we had plenty of room to work with on the rock beach. The mountains up high had hints of snow on them which enhanced the golden fall colors. We explored around Lake McDonald Lodge while taking their wedding party photos and then headed back to Apgar Amphitheater where the ceremony would occur. It is only $100 to get a permit and reserve Apgar Amphitheater for a wedding. I really recommend this location, it is by far my favorite “venue” yet.

The ceremony was nothing short of breathtaking, Kristen’s sweet grandfather walked her down the isle to Jeremiah and I definitely had tears in my eyes at this point. The whole feeling of the wedding was so smooth and easy going. I really think it is all about the tempo the bride sets and Kristen was just grateful the entire time. Once the ceremony ended, we took family photos with the most gorgeous back drop I have ever seen Glacier put on. The way the dreamy clouds reflected off of the lake and the way the sun was shining was truly amazing.

For the reception we headed to Cedar Creek Lodge in Columbia Falls for all the heartfelt speeches, playful cake cutting and crazy dancing! Kristen made 99% of the decorations here and worked for a week straight on setting it up perfectly. The staff at Cedar Creek Lodge were extremely professional and hosted a great reception. My favorite part was definitely her grandpa giving his speech to them, I really made sure to capture those precious times as perfectly as I could because I knew how special those photographs would be to her one day.

Once my second shooter (who is also my sister) and I left we felt so grateful to be part such amazing people’s wedding. We are so excited for their future together as a married couple.
